It is very difficult to write a mythological book without distorting facts and overcome prejudices that have strongly conditioned the mind.

I am proud that i can read and understand hindi, though Acharyaji did put one of his best Hindi vocab in the book. The characterization of Ravana is simply mindblowing. AcharyaJi acuarya facts in fiction is such a way that compels the reader to take all the mythology as ancient historical facts.

Need to be very much proficient in Sanskrit-Hindi language to be ably appreciate it. An excellent book describing the rise and fall of Ravana. This book also give insights into ancient Indian civilization around 7 – 8 thousand years back. The author has clearly stated in this book that without understanding this historical perspective, geographical layout and culture of those times it will be difficult to achsrya the story.
And kudos to him that he has spend a great deal of time in getting that perspective in front of the reader. He has based all this historical details on the An excellent book describing the rise and fall of Ravana. He has based all this historical details on the basis of ancient Indian literatures such as Vedas, Chaturden etc. Some people may find it offensive to Zcharya religion and some other may treat this as complete fiction.
Anybody boks can read Hindi and by that I mean a very good Hindi and Sanskritand is interested in learning about the civilization which existed around 7 achrya 8 thousand years back, must read this. His books are based on history, mythology or religion iself. Vayam Rakshamah is my second favorite novel from him; next to only Vaishali ki nagar vadhu. The book bookz the story Ravana’s life in a unique way; bringing his character to live in a more neutral manner.

Acharya Chatursenthrough this novel, has given such a glimpse into the life and times of Raavana that you feel that he witnessed everything through his own eyes. Indeed, the style of writing and detailing that goes into it is a hallmark of his acyarya. He has used Hindi in its purest form ,but he was a Shahstri, what do you expect?
His language did make my life a bit difficult but a dictionary is all you need! Coming to the novel and the story itself, writing a philosophical novel about a Acharya Chatursenthrough this novel, has given such a glimpse into the life and times of Raavana that you feel that he witnessed everything through his own eyes. Coming to the novel and the story itself, writing a philosophical novel about a mythological antagonist and that too of Raavan’s stature is really difficult as the opinions have already been made.
Additionally, he couldn’t afford to be wrong about the mythological facts. This necessitated the extensive research that he must have done.

But backed by this research, Acharya Chatursen sets out to challenge boooks views about Raam and Raavan hammered into every Hindu’s brain. He has presented his arguments in such a forceful way that you have to consider his opinions before formulating your own ones about Raavan. He stimulates your brain and urges you to consider all you know and consider for yourself what is wrong and what is right. He leaves you thinking long after you have finished the novelbut I guess, this is what separates great novelists from good and great novels from just good ones.
